American Skools Still Number A!

In a critique by the Secretary of Education's Commission on the Future of Higher Education, American universities were accused of being: “risk-averse, self-satisfied, self-indulgently expensive, and oblivious to smarter rivals overtaking” (source).

I say that America’s institutes of higher learning still have what it takes to create the future leaders (even Presidents) of tomorrow...and the following pictures are proof:

Instilling Interest in Poltics...

Teaching Problem Solving Abilities...

Dedicated and Excited Teachers...

Students that Can Multitask...

Exposure to Fine Art...

Teaching Responsibility and Life Lessons...

...and Embracing Foreign Cultures!

To all of you nay-sayers, THIS is our future...and it makes me proud to be an American!

I’ve never hosted an official Thanksgiving, but the past two years we’ve hosted a little vegetarian Friendsgiving (AKA a meal full of things I can actually eat!). We don’t do tofurkey so it’s mostly a meal of sides. Last year was rotini with butternut sage sauce (got the recipe here, actually!), vegetarian stuffing, roasted veggies, green beans with butter and garlic, corn pudding, salad (greens, cranberries, walnuts and feta cheese in a raspberry vinaigrette), Hawaiian rolls and pumpkin pie. All my favorites, so delicious.
